Ilia Tshavshavadze. The founder of critical realism in Georgian literature, one of the leader of national-liberation stuggle of the Georgian people in the 19 c. He founded and edited (1877-1902) in Georgian literary-political paper "Iveria". Chaired (1885-1907) the society for dissemination of literacy among Georgians and the managerial board of the Georgian nobility land Bank. In 1906 he was elected to the State Council.
